Quality of service....what does it mean?
Let us explain what
we mean by qouting a joke heard in the bar of a five star hotel
in Amsterdam (not using Amazingports):

- Do you know why paying for dial-up is better than free Broadband?
- No ?!
- Because it is faster!
This joke illustrates a problem that the hotel experienced having
a 4Mbps connection.
Needless to say even the German autobahn gets clogged up when too
many cars come along.
Solving this problem requires control over quality of service,
something that Amazingports makes simple and easy to manage, actually

How many times does your guest have to login before it
is bad service?
Another hotel chain we know of uses a competing solution that turns
your stay at the hotel into a login frenzie: As the reception can
not provide the guests with an internet access voucher adapted to
the length of the stay, they are obliged to sell a "bunch"
of day/night and week-end vouchers to provide access for a week.
Unfortuantely their system also forces the user to login every 6
hours with a 16 charachter long random code....
Using Amazingports, a local reception, a cafeteria or an internet
cafe can provide the customer with an offering adapted to the customers
needs.
We are also
proud of a number of other features that simplify life for the average
network user:
- For end-users with small screens like PDA's - the system detects
the small screen and serves the user pages specially adapted for
small screens.
- Not all users prefer english, our system automatically detects
the users language preference and if possible provides pages in
that language. (If the system is wrong - the user can choose his
own favorite)
- Entering a voucher code, numbers are grouped to make it easier
to read and write them. For the users convenience the system automatically
removes any white space when entering codes.
- Buying with a credit card, the user does not have to remember
his voucher code - it as automatically used. Compare this to some
of our competitors where the user have to remember a long an complicated
user name and password to be able to use the service, and additionally enter it several times...
- Remembering weird 16 character alfa-numeric usernames and passwords
is hard. In AmazingPorts systems, the user can choose his own login
name and password, thus making it significantly easier to login/logout.
- One time users does not have to use username and password at
all! Pay and go in a nutshell!
- In any location the local retailer can sell vouchers and access
products ranging from 1 minute to 1000 years. This significantly improves
customer service as the user only has to enter one voucher once
- the rest is automatic!
- If you have several hotspots the user does not have to login
when moving between these networks - but you can still easily
apply different QoS regimes on each one of your networks. Some
people call this seamless roaming, as special toping on the cake
we do not base our roaming solely on the client MAC (hardware ID) as
most of our competitors do, this significantly improves security.
