What is AmazingPorts?
AmazingPorts is a network operator providing and managing networks. In increasingly complex network environments, AmazingPorts provide technology and structure both for end-users and location owners, we call them location hosts. By providing access control and roaming we make mobility simple, secure and accessible to all.

What is AmazingPorts access control?
AmazingPorts has designed and developed a unique access control system allowing to administrate a multitude of users and groups on the same network. As we are capable of giving different access services and quality of service to each user at the same place at a same time - many different users can take advantage of the same infrastructure.

What do I need to access the service?
You first need a laptop or handheld with WLAN (WiFi) enabled, i.e. a wireless card. Perhaps your device already have this capability built-in. If not, you can purchase a WLAN 802.11a or b wireless networking card for most laptops and many handheld's from any electronics retailer or direct from the manufacturer. When you're at one of AmazingPorts surfing zones and are about to log in, set your SSID (or network identifier) to 'InternetAccess' or what ever the local network has chosen to use. Refer to your wireless network card documentation for specific instructions on how to make this setting.
No additional software is required.

Then you need to open your browser (Internet explorer or Navigator and enter a web site address (ex.www.hotmail.com), You are automatically redirected to the web page of the location host. On the top banner, you will find a "Connect" bar. Click this and follow the on screen instructions.

How do I get a hotspot of my own?

How fast is the connection?
All surfing zones have different speeds - up to 54Mbps wireless and up to 1Gbps wired, but the speed is relative to what you are doing. AmazingPorts quality of service schema is there to ensure trouble free access independently of whether you are calling (using VoIP), just surfing or checking your e-mail.

How does the service work?
In each location an AmazingPorts Access Controller is necessary. The user launches his browser within the network zone and receives a welcome page, where he can register or login with username and password. Once the account information is verified, you are able to connect to Internet resources.

Can I access my corporate network using AmazingPorts Service?
YES, if you use secure applications you can definitely continue to use them, and we can support quality of service. Also you select which applications you wish to buy roaming access to, when you are mobile.

YES, if you use a traditional VPN you can use it. unfortunately traditional VPN does not support quality of service - therefore you should upgrade as soon as possible to application based security.

Do I need to download or install any special software to connect to the AmazingPorts network?
No installation nor additional software is necessary.

How do I secure my connection to the Internet through AmazingPorts ?
AmazingPorts strongly recommends that users take measures to ensure the security of their computers. We recommend users to verify that all sensitive data sent over Internet is encrypted and protected. You do this by asking your bank, e-mail provider etc to provide secure connections to their services. AmazingPorts networks are connected to the Internet and are to be considered as Internet, even though AmazingPorts provide certain firewall functionality within the network. Therefore a personal firewall is also recommended.

Usage:

I am at a AmazingPorts surfing zone. How do I log-in to my account?
It is very simple: open your browser and surf what you want to surf. If you need to login, you will be automatically redirected to the locations host's web page. In the top banner, login or click on "New User ". If you are a new user, you will be given the opportunity to buy access after registration - if you already have an account or a WirelessPass you can use them equally.

Does AmazingPorts provide me with an email account?
AmazingPorts is not an e-mail provider, thus have no e-mail related services.

Can I connect using a Macintosh computer or a handheld computer?
Yes, AmazingPorts supports Macintosh and handheld users under conditions these handheld's are WLAN enabled, Macintosh users shall set their AirPort card to select AmazingPorts network.

Can I connect using a stationary computer?
Yes, if your computer has relevant equipment to connect to a network-

Can I use my ordinary email account?
Yes, You just use it as usual.

Currently we provide no lists of locations - use networks where you find them!

Can I use AmazingPorts service from home?
You can get an Access Controller to enable control over who in your neighbor is using your network - but you always need your own internet service provider ...unless of course your neighbor has an Access Controller.

The best way to make sure AmazingPorts exists in your place, is to get a hotspot your self.

How will I be billed?
The FreeSpot is ...free!!!! For registered Access controllers we give you 50% of credit card revenue.
Additionally we have monthly packages for Hotels, cafes, Internet cafes etc...

Are corporate prices different?
AmazingPorts offer individuals access to internet and other services. As an individual we charge the same thing independently of your legal status. For companies and operators we offer bulk pricing. Look in our web store.

Is it possible to integrate our POS system?
Yes, AmazingPorts provide an easy to use XML interface that lets your POS system create vouchers on the fly. You can easily control voucher validity etc to enable products like "If you buy for XX amount - you get 30 minutes of free access to consume within the next 60 minutes". The XML voucher interface is secured over SSL and available to all commercial customers.

Pay per use:

Where do I buy pay per use services?
You can buy access codes from the local welcome pages. In many locations you can also buy a WirelessPass of a local retailer, i.e. cafe, restaurant, hotel or corporate reception in the surfing zone.

How do I pay?
On-line you pay by credit card. In locations with a local retailer you can pay cash or any other locally available means of payment.

Why are prices different in different locations?
AmazingPorts policy is to let the location hosts chose their price.
